An early member of the design team and the first to work on our Shopper products (products for our in-store shoppers, cashiers, drivers and shift leads that help us fulfill customer orders). I've touched almost all the products and services our shoppers use to successfully do their jobs: the Shopper iPhone and Android apps, our Shopper applicant funnel, and a variety of web tools used to manage our operations.

One Feed for All Your Interests.I joined Prismatic as the second designer and worked on all aspects of the product: iPhone, Android and Web app. Prismatic was acquired by LinkedIn in 2015.

Teaching Assistant for STS Senior Capstone Research course in which students work through the entire research process on their own projects: from research question ideation to qualitative and quantitative analysis. Students use a variety of research methods including participant observation, content analysis, interviews and surveys, analyzing each method accordingly.TA for STS200A: Food and Society: Politics, Culture and Technology (August 2012 - December 2012)This course examines how politics, culture, and technology intersect in our food practices. Through a survey of academic, journalistic, and artistic works on food and eating, the course explores a set of key analytical frameworks and conceptual tools in STS. The topics covered include: the industrialization of agriculture; technology and the modes of eating (e.g., the rise of restaurants); food taboos; globalization and local foodways; food and environmentalism; and new technologies in production (e.g., genetically modified food).TA for STS200B: Car Culture (December 2012 - March 2013)Since at least the 50s, the U.S. has been notorious as a nation in love with the car. An examination of this premise, analyzing new methods of production brought by automobile manufacture, how automobiles shaped urban growth, debates about pollution and environmental degradation, and debates around auto safety. How the car has influenced American practices including courting, eating out, and suburban living.

Helping to improve the user experience for our users through a variety of projects. The role encapsulates various aspects of the design cycle, including protoyping, wireframing, creating high fidelity mocks, and user research.

Worked on developing the strategy for Google.org 3.0Researched and interviewed major international aid organizations to prototype partnership models for Google.org, co-authored three white papers on Google.org's new focus sectors, outlining their importance, relative scale, use cases and recommended actions. From this, helped create detailed business plans for potential Google solutions in energy, with modeled capital expenditures ranging $50M-$1B+, target markets of 1B+ people, risk mitigation strategies, and long-term scaling plans.

During my time at Box, I helped investigate the building and implementation of a long-term strategy for testing mobile apps across systems and devices. In addition, I performed extensive research on mobile handset and OS market to identify future product opportunities. I also develop internal metrics to consistently quantify and analyze mobile performance of the Box.net application across all major platforms.

The Building Entrepreneurial Leaders (BEL) Program is a highly selective program focused on giving students the opportunity to strengthen their business and leadership skill set while gaining exposure to Bain & Company, one of the world’s top tier strategy consulting firms. The six day program includes the opportunity to tackle an important business issue for a Bain client and present your findings to management, working side-by-side with a Bain case team.During my time, I devised the customer group prioritization strategy for a high-tech client’s online retail operations in China through customer segmentation analysis. In addition, I identified key competitive threats and recommended next steps in a presentation to the Partner on the case.

Completed a rotation within the Drug Product Manufacturing Science & Technology group (DP MSAT) as part of Genentech's Operations Rotational Development Program. In this role I implemented a sustainable and expandable database to store and sort data from clinical batch records. This statistical tool was developed to better predict clinical production yields using Excel, Access, and JMP software. In addition, internal metrics used to measure weekly performance in manufacturing fill yield were refined and documented. My findings were displayed and presented at a company-wide research gallery event as well as to the entire DP MSAT team in a final presentation.

The Exploring Social Innovation (ESI) program brings together undergraduate/graduate students and working professionals from Japan and students from Stanford and Berkeley. Participants study social innovation and entrepreneurship in the Bay Area, visiting innovative businesses and non-profits, meeting with social entrepreneurs, and working together to design a social venture project. After ESI, participants can implement their projects in their local communities in Japan.

The Asia-U.S. Service-Learning (AUSL) Program connects students from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Stanford and U.C. Berkeley to learn about important social issues through volunteering and reflection. Participants on the program spend 4 weeks at Stanford and in San Francisco working closely with several non-profit organizations, attending interactive lectures and workshops, and developing an individual plan for involvement after the program.

The LEAD Program in Business partners with corporations such as the FDIC and Deutsche Bank, as well as some of the top business schools in the U.S., among them the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Tuck School at Dartmouth College, to develop Summer Business Institutes (SBIs). SBIs are 3 to 4 week residential programs that immerse participants in a range of topics from finance and marketing, to e-commerce and entrepreneurship.
