Manufacturing Engineer (Structures department)● Assist in creating and maintaining sub-assembly, detailed part routings and technical work instructions.● Provide feedback, create and/or modify designs (models) from customers for manufacturing feasibility. ● Interface with shop floor and bridge their feedback with various engineering groups to constantly improve designs and manufacturing.● Provide technical support and root cause investigation for detailed part and… Show more Manufacturing Engineer (Structures department)● Assist in creating and maintaining sub-assembly, detailed part routings and technical work instructions.● Provide feedback, create and/or modify designs (models) from customers for manufacturing feasibility. ● Interface with shop floor and bridge their feedback with various engineering groups to constantly improve designs and manufacturing.● Provide technical support and root cause investigation for detailed part and sub-assembly quality issues.● Support of new business of Power Generation Sets (i.e. revise engineering drawings and setup pipes and structures parts for fabrication).● Support various engineering departments by developing and manufacturing special requests such as tools, fixturing among others. ● Develop and Execute feasible timelines for project completion.● Participate in various 5S improvement projects.● Responsible for preparing and presenting quality and technical reports to be shared with Manufacturing, Production, Supervision and Management on a monthly basis.● Active participation on a Built in Quality (BIQ) project as process owner of the manufacturing department (Six Sigma project).● As a process owner: -Facilitate and enforce continuous improvement in "People, Quality, Velocity and Cost" (PQVC) -Create and/or modify "In Process Validations" (IPVs) for operations performed by production. -Work with manufacturing, maintenance and vendors to correct machinery issues. -Define and provide training to floor mechanics and welders that need training on machines and/or process. -Monitor and respond to quality issues created on such machines and/or processes. -Help other engineers to define and acquire tools needed for such processes. -Share manufacturing restraints with other manufacturing engineers and design engineers to help prevent difficult designs from getting through our drawing review.
