He oversees strategic planning for product & business development; is responsible for setting vision for the company, building a strong management team and resource procurement; is known for causing things to happen & provoking people to do their best work. Fred, Master’s degree in Landscape Arch. (U of Guelph) supplemented with business management courses from various institutions; a B.Sc. (Biology) Memorial University of Newfoundland & Labrador; ventureLab, Toronto. He's a member of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects. He's led 2 award winning landscape architecture consultancy companies in Atlantic Canada; Previous O/O of a landscape design-build company. He's been an entrepreneur since the age of 12. Comes from a family of entrepreneurs and independent thinkers: travelling sales person (grandfather), whalers, fishermen, retailer, and ships chandlers supplying the Portuguese and Spanish fleets on the Grand Banks of Newfoundland with everything they needed including consular services.Fred is passionate about creating beauty and improving the quality of people’s lives by creating beautiful - sustainable outdoor spaces. He has offered some of his time and expertise to public boards including the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador, The Canadian Mental Health Association, The Newfoundland & Labrador Historic Trust. Spends down time hiking, sea-kayaking, and sailing - ocean cruising, preparing great food, sharing stories.
