Work mainly with fully included student assisting with processing and attention issues. This can require re-teaching of material presented in lessons. Student also has some behaviors that stand out from peers that we are working on reducing. Second student is pulled-out for some academic subjects. When in classroom, the second student needs assistance in understanding material as well as redirection to appropriately focus on required tasks/behavior. I Also work with the general class population as a support to the classroom teacher as well as to normalize my presence in the classroom - this reduces the focus as "different" on the two students I am assigned to.2013-14 Assigned to work with 6th grade student having academic issues both in general classroom and in pull-out small group work. Specific needs are: reteach material, help with organization of materials as well as schoolwork; guidance in how to be a student; refocusing attention, liaison with specialists (speech, therapeutic) on student's needs, progress, successes. In addition, I work with some of the other students on education plans and, when in the general education classroom, am available to all students (when not working with my assigned student).
