Worked as part of a three person engineering team to build a new handheld diabetic retinopathy screening device called RETeval. I was responsible for the architecture, design and much of the development of the device firmware. The device includes real-time computer vision and signal analysis as well as a polished user interface for making it easy to use and flexible for both doctors and researchers. I currently design the software for a new electrophysiology device and help implement extensions to the RETeval for diagnosing other eye diseases.

Early member of the techical team that created the intellectual property leading to several successful venture investments. Designed Hillcrest's core set top box framework and led its implementation on customer devices such as the Kodak HD Theatre. I also developed the integration strategy and APIs used to enable Freespace technology on our licensee's TV and STB processors. The most visible of these is now the libfreespace open-source project.

Designed the core call setup and teardown software for a carrier class voice over IP gateway. A member of the original team that designed and built SALIX's premier product that led to an acquisition of the company by Tellabs.

Implemented and optimized the embedded firmware for a 155Mbps ATM module for IBM's RS/6000 family of servers and workstations.
