Michael has over 15 years experience working in the Information Technology industry across West Africa in different capacities. He has worked as a system administrator, computer programmer, web developer and telecommunications Engineer.In his managerial role as an Information Management Specialist for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Michael oversaw the procurement, installation and management of Information Technology assets valued over three million dollars ($3m). He also contributed to the deployment and management of UASID's proprietary network in Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, Benin and Cameroon. He has provided support and guidance on computer systems, software application systems, repair and maintenance of hardware, network connectivity and support for telecommunications and network operations for over 300 workstations and over 300 users in Mission offices in Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Nigeria and Cameroon.Prior to working with USAID, Michael worked with Huawei Technologies Company Limited as anIntelligence Network Engineer overseeing Roaming services for MTN Ghana, MTN CoteD'Ivoire, MTN Liberia, MTN Guinea Conakry and Bissau. He began his IT career as a self-taught freelance web developer and computer programmer.Throughout his tenure with USAID, Michael has served as an Equal Employment Opportunity counsellor - helping prohibit discrimination and harassment at the workplace. He has chaired Technical Evaluation Committees for the recruitment of Information Technology positions and has served as an experienced multimedia advisor to the Development, Outreach and Communications teams. He doubles as a professional photographer and videographer. Michael has received numerous performance awards in recognition of his ability to provide critical IT solutions, build the capacity of staff, and create a caring and respectful work environment.Michael has a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University ofCoventry, U.K and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of CapeCoast, Ghana. He is ITIL v3 certified and has travelled extensively for IT conferences and trainings.Michael has good communication skills, an extraordinary proficiency for conveying ideas effectively and is able to identify the messages people are attempting to convey. He has great adaptation skills and the ability to adjust to changes in the workplace while maintaining a positive demeanor.
