About Fibria Novytasari
I am a UX/UI Designer focused on accessibility and inclusive design. How did it start?Two years ago, I went home to visit my parents. During my visit, many of my elderly neighbours came to our house asking me to help them to use their smartphones. These neighbours are elderly people who have had little to no exposure to technology all their life. They felt like they were being left behind. I assisted them on how to use their smartphones - video calling their children in big cities, booking a doctor’s appointment, watching their granddaughter’s Youtube videos, etc. During these learning sessions, I realised that a lot of technology wasn’t designed with them in mind - small text, complicated sentences, unclear instructions, and the list went on. I told myself that there must be a way to make technology more accessible. Then I stumbled upon User Experience Design. Since then, I have dedicated my time and energy to learn UX Design everyday. I have had a strong interest in accessibility since it was my first reason to learn UX Design. Accessibility means ensuring as many people as possible to access digital technology. It means providing equal access for people with disabilities, people of all ages and languages, and people with varying competencies of digital literacy. I finished a UX Bootcamp and I am now a MA User Experience Design student at Falmouth University. Moving forwardI believe that everyone - no matter their location, language or digital literacy - deserves digital products that were made for them and designed with their needs in consideration. I have a strong interest in accessibility and recently started learning digital sustainability. Moving forward, I want to deepen my knowledge in both and apply them to digital products I design.I am open for voluntary work around Manchester area. Let's chat!
