Over the past eight months I have worked for a of clients including AH Strategies, Spectrum Outsource Solutions, Crossreach,,Social Investment Scotland, Scottish Business Crime Centre and Scottish North American Council. The work has involved PR, public affairs and communications. I am currently researching and organising an event looking at new legislation being introduced.

I was responsible for promoting the work of the Registers of Scotland to print, broadcast, specialist and online versions of the media, providing journalists with up-to-date information on the current business of RoS and the property market. I would monitor the media, speak to the press and write press releases. I have secured deals with Scotland on Sunday, The Herald and Business Insider, in my limited time they saw an increase in the amount of coverage in the press. This position expanded my Public Relations experience by enhancing my relationship with the media. I acted for clients from the legal sector, licensing and political sectors and design and social media networks. I drafted press releases and ensured that clients gained maximum exposure in the media. This position gave me added experience in the retail sector as well as the licensing sector, life sciences and financial services.I was responsible for managing client monitoring and research reports, I advised on meetings with MSPs and Ministers, and managed parliamentary receptions for clients.I was able to use my business development and communication skills and brought in two new clients for McGrigors.

This position enhanced my written and oral communication skills as I had to meet with potential clients and explain how they could use Holyrood for the benefit of their business and I got to write for a range of publications on a variety of subjects including planning and renewable energy. I was also the lead researcher on a number of conferences including three planning conferences, renewable energy, Sustainable Landscapes and the Competition Commission investigation into supermarkets.
