Angola

Collaborated with Angola’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Environment to address environmental and social risks associated with medical waste specific to COVID-19. Key contributions included:➤ Policy Analysis: reviewed recommended improvements to national environmental legislation, climate policies, and Angola's NDC to include circular healthcare waste management.➤ Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitated consultations with key stakeholders across government, recyclers and waste pickers, and civil society to ensure alignment and collaboration.➤ Capacity Building: Delivered targeted training for senior government officials, enhancing their expertise in sustainability and circular economy practices.➤ Circular Economy Framework: Developed SOPs to include reverse logistics and a circular lens to the waste management systems.➤ Financial Planning: Designed a detailed implementation and costing plan to establish self-funded circular economy initiatives for sustainable long-term outcomes.
