I joined Audit & Inspection Group of the bank in December 2010 as Team Member. I was promoted as Team Leader in 2011 and worked as Team Leader till Sep 2014. Currently I am working as Area Head, (150 + branches) reporting to Regional Head – Audit North. As an Area Head I am responsible for:Branch Audits: Planning and conducting risk based detailed audits of bank’s local and foreign branches [Bangladesh & Bahrain], reviewing Operational Risk and Credit Risk, commenting upon compliance with Central Bank‘s Prudential Regulations, Circulars, Notifications and Bank’s internal policies & guidelines. These audit assignments entail a detailed review of branch’s balance sheet & P&L through review of assets (credit) quality, liabilities (customer deposits) and all income & expense accounts. Credit Risk is assessed by examining and reviewing borrowers’ credit files, transactions patterns & behavior and utilization of borrowed funds etc. On operations side, all areas of operations are thoroughly reviewed with special emphasis on KYC & AML.Special Investigations: Conducting special investigation in a private and confidential manner of all incidences of attempted / committed incidences of fraud & forgery by the customer/ staff members in local and foreign operations , fixation of responsibility, identifying gaps in internal controls and making recommendations for remedial actions for filling of the identified gaps.Management Audits: Conducting management audits of centralized functions and controlling offices according to the approved annual audit plan covering operational efficiency, human resource capacity and reviewing compliance with all operational and procedural manuals in place.Quality Assurance: Guiding & motivating team members for timely completion of audit assignments, reviewing their audit reports for accuracy to ensure departmental quality standards and leading audit exit discussions with the senior management.
