• Teach for Austria is a non-profit organization aiming for educational equality• Recent college graduates gain the opportunity to participate in a leadership development program in which the so called Fellows work as teachers at secondary schools in low income communities for two yearsWork included• Developing lesson plans in line with the national curriculum: Planned English lessons to meet curriculum standards.• Helping students understand, speak, read and write in English.• Delivering engaging, coherent lectures and motivating lessons to students across all Key Stages. Utilized learning technology in the planning and delivery of lessons.• Modifying assignments and activities to meet the learning needs of individual students – Identified and sorted into small, similarly skilled groups.• Classroom management: Preparing English classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts. Preparing course work, planned class sessions: Selected/integrated appropriate instructional materials for classroom instruction – Organized/delivered classroom lectures to students. Arranged extra-curricular activities and set targets for pupils.• Evaluating the students’ class work and assignments: Graded tests, essays, reports and other assignments – Regularly provided students with feedback in line with the faculty assessment systems.• Project Management for several long- and short term projects (student parliament, Home and Migration Project, World-Peace-Game etc.) • Contact with stakeholders and media partners

SILC ("Community Statistics on Income and Living Conditions") is a survey through which information about living conditions of private households in the EU are conducted.SILC is focusing on the employment situation, the household income as well as living situation including education, health, happiness and well-being. The survey allows to draw conclusions about different groups of society, poverty and social exclusion. The SILC survey outcomes serve as an important foundation for social policy in Austria and the EU.
