About Andrew Fielding
I am trained as a chemist and biochemist with additional skills in biophysics, and inorganic chemistry. My gradate and postdoctoral research has focused on elucidating the mechanism of O2 and N2 activation by dioxygenases and nitrogenase. My research has used a combination of transient kinetic techniques including stopped-flow, chemical quenching and rapid freeze-quench experiments. I am also skilled at a variety of spectroscopic techniques including UV-Vis, LC-MS/MS, EPR, NMR, IR, fluorescence and resonance Raman. I have additional experience in anaerobic manipulations, synthetic chemistry, microbiology, and teaching/supervising students.Hobbies: I enjoy sailing, skiing, hiking, swimming, flying kites and making/throwing boomerangs.
Listed skills include Spectroscopy, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Kinetics, and 16 others.
