It screened at 30 film festivals worldwide and won multiple awards, including Best British Drama, Best Comedy, Best Actress and the Audience Awards at Berlin and Glasgow Short Film Festivals. BBC and NFTS trained in Drama, Script Development & Comedy, Fiona speaks Turkish, has both Turkish & Scottish citizenship and is based in London and Scotland. She has worked with talent including Kenneth Branagh, Victoria Wood, Stephen Fry, Irvine Welsh, Robert Altman, Emma Freud, Nicola Benedetti, Stanley Baxter, Janey Godley, Sanjeev Kohli and Derek Jarman. Recently mentored by BAFTA-winning director Philippa Lowthorpe. When COVID hit the industry Fiona took a break from filmmaking to work full time as a Refuge Manager for women & children fleeing domestic abuse. She has directed for the BBC’s long-running dramas “River City” and “Doctors” and made numerous films for network music, arts & comedy output as well as human interest observational documentaries.
