Born in Lisbon, Filipe began his career in film after a decade as a journalist for the press, radio, television and web, in Portugal, Spain, and Italy. His filmography, acquired by the Portuguese public service broadcasting since 2011, enjoys four awards, featured in several festivals, broadcast on international television channels, and screened in venues and events such as Casa del Cinema (Rome, Italy), Círculo de Bellas Artes, Filmoteca Española (Madrid, Spain), or the UNESCO's Universal Culture Forum (Mexico). In 2008 he co-founded the production company Blablabla Media, an independent platform that ensures both his original proposals and his most institutional and commercial works. Within the latter context, Filipe wrote and directed films for numerous foundations and brands, among which are the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Vanity Fair, TAP or Adega Mayor (Delta). Appointed by the European Commission as “Erasmus ambassador” for Portugal (2012) and jury of the MUVI film festival in Lisbon (2015), besides directing, Filipe was also responsible for the first curriculum of the course Film and Television Directing (Masters in Communication Studies - Catholic University of Portugal).
