Perhaps due to my newness I took on the role with an understanding that all territories were akin to the situation in which I found myself. Little access, no centers of influence, no specialist support, just a doctor list in hand. By the time of my departure the territory of North Vancouver and upper Vancouver Island was one of the fastest growing territories in the corporation. I attribute a substantial amount of that success to the management style of the District Manager of the period. To date, I have made effort to emulate his encouraging, positive interactive style which provides positive feedback for striving to do little bit better, always.
