Personal Injury law firm. I assisted the Law Clerk and Articling student. Tasks included carrying out undertakings, performing the necessary legal research and assisting in drafting court documents, all while handing a high-volume case load.

Contracted position that required superior organizational skills, keen attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume caseload with a steep learning curve. Primary role consisted of rapidly learning new case management software in addition to drafting Request for Evidence (RFE) responses for H-1B nonimmigrant visa applications that were then provided to U.S. Attorneys for final review before sending to USCIS. This entailed collecting, organizing and assessing documentation from reaching out to foreign nationals and businesses, conducting the necessary legal research using various immigration sources and tools that abide by current U.S. immigration regulations, and determining the best response after analyzing all available data. All of this was performed to meet strict deadlines while managing a high caseload in a fast-paced environment, including consistently updating case files on INSZoom. Regular follow-ups with foreign nationals and responding to any inquiries was instrumental in the success of each petition.

Provided excellent customer service resulting in client satisfaction and maximization of sales. Demonstrated strong teamwork and communications skills which resulted in the continuous maintenance of inventory and processing of transactions.

Pro Bono placement that involved proactive data gathering and the fluid transitioning of information between clients and solicitors. Primary roles included interviewing clients, drafting and inputting information into databases and corresponding with solicitors regarding various legal issues relating to housing, employment and social benefits. Shadowing solicitors and sitting in on advice sessions was an integral part of this experience.

PSCI283: International Political EconomyPSCI110: Politics of the Contemporary WorldProvided educational assistance to undergraduate students with concepts and theories in relation to political economics and international affairs. In addition to holding office hours, other responsibilities included assigning students to group presentations, helping with assignments and class content, proctoring, and marking exams. Effective time management and ability to maintain strict confidentiality were necessary in meeting deadlines and maintaining a safe and trustworthy environment for staff and students alike
