DSM is a global, purpose-led leader in health and nutrition. In DSM's Corporate Sustainability Team I was leading the supply chain side of DSM's first Nature & Biodiversity Impact Assessment. This project aimed to quantify and improve DSM's impact on nature throughout our operations and supply chain. I was responsible for designing and executing the research plan, including interviews and data analysis. I wasalso involved in DSM's SBTi target update. As DSM merged with the Swiss Firmenich, I contributed to the consolidation of our sustainability policies, practices and targets. Besides my responsibilities in the Corporate Sustainability Team I also supported Edith Schippers (President DSM The Netherlands) on key projects regarding the merger.

In this position I contributed to the implementation and revision of the Dutch policy on Responsible Business Conduct at a strategic level. Here I worked on making international supply chains more transparent and sustainable, with a focus on supply chain due diligence. I did this by: promoting awareness among companies about their social responsibility and the internal systems they should have in place to guarantee this; setting up several projects in production countries in collaboration with NGOs; forming cooperation agreements between the private sector and their stakeholders. Starting in 2020, I shared responsibility for the evaluation of the effectiveness of our policies. In a team of 5, I designed and oversaw several studies that were conducted by third parties. This evaluation was completed successfully and led to significant policy changes.

The Erasmus Consultancy Project (ECP) is the largest project of STAR, the study association of Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University. Every year, the ECP offers companies and non-profit organizations tailor-made research and consultancy services in an emerging market. This year’s chosen country is Colombia. The ECP is carried out by approximately 25 carefully selected students and two supporting professors from Erasmus University. The project adds substantial value due to the combination of desk and field research.As a consultant, my responsibilities consist of acquiring contracts, conducting desk and field research on the Colombian market and advising companies based on this research.
