Working close with the CFO in implementing and setting up the new financial controls and defining new management reports. Nmbrs group includes the main Dutch entity and 2 international legal entities, Portugal and Sweden. Leading the budget and forecast for all the legal entities and advising about potential risk; managing the month end reporting cycle by defining the schedule and allocate the responsibilities; monthly reporting to management team explaining variances against a budgets/forecast; sales analysis on customer level and related KPIs, cash flow forecasting; finalising all financial statements for audit. I have also been responsible for transitioning the accounting work to the local accounting firms in Portugal and Sweden.

My main responsibilities to analyse and report all Pharmaceutical organised events. There were 15 worldwide where the biggest event was CPhi Europe. The other events were based in Middle East and Asia. In order to analyse/report these events and discuss their budgets and forecasts, I had to engage with several stakeholders: Brand team (Brand & Event directors, brand managers), Operations, Marketing, Sales, Customer Insight and Content. The level of interaction was constant in order to provided accurate information. I was also reporting the regular month end together with the accounting team, which was based in the UK.

As a Senior Financial analyst I was responsible for responsible for reporting and analysis of Bissell International markets mainly EMEA and Latin America. The main market was the US with about 90% of the business. Other responsibilities were focused on the worldwide consolidated reporting of the sales and gross margins; pricing analysis, inventory analysis. This was my first experience in working in a consumer goods company, which gave me a strong insight about the strategies in selling different product categories.

After gaining a solid knowledge of the overall accounting I wanted to move for a more analytical role. At Stolt Nielsen I was able to exercise and develop those analytical skills. I got more experienced in analysing variances between actuals and budget/forecast, consolidation and preparing management reports. I was also involved during the transition to difference ERP system. This gave me a huge understanding how different systems (Oracle, Hyperion, Smartview) work and the checks that need to be put in place to make sure the information is pulled in a accurate way.

Responsible for doing the all round accounting tasks for the several schools based in the UK. Tasks such as AP bookkeeping, several ad-hoc journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, intra-company invoicing and balance sheet reconciliations. It was at EF that I got the first on the job experience with month/quarter/year end closings and preparing most of the financial documentation for audits. Having a strong accounting experience gave a solid base knowledge for my future roles.
