Art director, designer, researcher, coordinator, and initiator of activities related to visual culture. He was born in 1984 in Warsaw. In 2008, he founded the interdisciplinary design office Syfon Studio, where he deals with: project management (art / creative direction), visual identification (brand audit/analysis, branding/rebranding, design systems), web design (UX/UI, customers journey) as well as space design (wayfinding, exhibition design, shop window design) and printed materials and publications (print/layout design, production supervision).On behalf of the Association of Polish Graphic Designers, he participated as an expert in consulting laws (“Act. On the emblem, colors, and anthem of the Republic of Poland”, “Act on Artist’s Rights”), supported comprehensive branding processes for public institutions (including universities) and acted for creating a friendly environment for the development of functional graphics. In 2018 he invented and implemented (together with Mateusz Machalski) the first of the series of Friendly Graphic Designers’ Meetings (KSP), and for 5 years he worked as a curator and coordinator of the STGU Project of the Year competition. He was the creator of the Poster Play micro-festival.Projects implemented by Filip were awarded in competitions, i.e. European Design Awards, Bienal del Cartel Bolivia BICeBé, AMS Poster Gallery, STGU Project of the Year, and others. The project of the Archives of Public Protests by Filip won the Grand Prix (Project of the Year) during the Polish Graphic Design Awards 2020. Filip’s works have been published by 2+3D, Monocle Magazine, Slanted Magazine, and IdN Magazine and were also featured several times in the Print Control. Best Printed Matter from Poland. Filip’s achievements have been noticed by internet blogs, such as Mindsparkle Mag, It’s Nice That, Designer Daily, Waaterkant, Shillington Design Blog.Filip used the acquired knowledge and experience while sitting on the jury of such competitions as National Prize for Design in Slovakia, EBGA. Greek Graphic Design & Illustration Awards, Polish Graphic Design Awards, Graduation Projects, AMS Poster Gallery, AGRAFA International Student Graphic Design Competition.Filip Tofil is a laureate of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage scholarship for outstanding artistic achievements and the Young Poland 2018 scholarship. In 2017-2022, Filip Tofil was a board member of the Association of Polish Graphic Designers (in 2022 he represented the Association before the International Design Council ico-D).

They define the field of their activities as visual interaction, which involves project management (art / creative direction), designing visual identities (brand audit/analysis, branding/rebranding, design systems), creating websites (UX/UI, customers journey, web design), design for the use of space (wayfinding, exhibition design, shop window design), as well as printed materials and publications (print/layout design, production supervision). Syfon Studio willingly responds to challenges that require unconventional, individual approaches. In parallel with commercial projects, Syfon Studio is involved in artistic, experimental, and social projects that exploit the language of contemporary graphic design.Syfon Studio has been awarded many times, including competitions: Ed Awards, Bolivia Poster Biennale, AMS Poster Gallery, STGU Project of the Year. The studio’s clients include Zachęta - National Gallery of Art, WWAA, UEFA, BOŚ Bank, the Perła Brewery Archeology of Photography Foundation, the National Cultural Center, the Polish History Museum, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, Goethe Institute, and Soho Factory. The works of Syfon Studio have been published, among others in Slanted Magazine, Monocle Magazine, Transparent (victionary), IdN Magazine, Print Control. Best printed matter in Poland, 2 + 3D. STGU promotes the awareness of "good design" and the need to invest in professional design as a practical brand and strategy management tool. Additionally, it cooperates with universities, state and cultural institutions, the media and the business sector.STGU goals are focused on building a community, educating its stakeholders and improving awareness of the design profession. The association believes in the power of collaboration to lead to a stronger voice. In STGU every member has a chance, not only to be a part of this creative community, but also to build it from the inside, building projects and initiatives that bring designers together. The Association celebrates Polish design heritage, discusses crucial current topics and improves the industry for a bright future. The Association’s mission includes defining and raising awareness of professional standards and best design practices. According to this principle, they strive to educate both associated and outside designers as well as clients. In addition to articles and weekly webinars, focused on the work of a designer, STGU conducts portfolio consultations and a mentoring programme, thus helping designers in their further development. In their actions, they cover all perspectives on design, starting from the business, and ending on the creative side. They invite and collaborate with experts outside of the design bubble to widen the knowledge and skills of our members. -
