I joined the Specification & Design Department at Kingspan Environmental to assist in the provision of product technical support and project engineering design support to our clients. In this role I am responsible for designing commercial renewable energy & water management systems for a range of markets. The role involves the creation of system simulations, design packs, bill of materials and quotations for commercial projects worldwide.

St. Michael'S Estate, Inchicore

I joined Punch Consulting Engineers as Resident Engineer for the St Michael’s Estate Regeneration Project, Phase 1A. This contract involves the provision of Reinforced Concrete Basement car park, followed by 65 No. Apartments throughout 4 separate blocks some up to 5 floors, a single storey Crèche, 10 No. 2 storey houses and associated site works/landscaping.

Dublin

I joined Dublin Dental School & Hospital as the Client’s Representative for the Phase (II) Developments Contract. This contract involves the integration of Nos. 1 – 4 Leinster Street South and Nos. 18 & 19 Lincoln Place into the existing Hospital campus. The provision of a new 4th Floor Structure, to house a new library is also being provided within the scope of this contract.

I joined Meath County Council as a Resident Engineer for various on-going infrastructural projects including the South Drogheda and East Meath Water Augmentation Scheme, Enfield Sewerage Scheme Stage 2 and the East Meath Coastal Sewerage Scheme.

Dundalk Town Council

I joined Dundalk Town Council, Roads Section as an Executive Engineer on a temporary contract. My role involved the preparation of Contract Documentation for Public Works projects in accordance with the Department of Finance forms of contracts, the evaluation of Contractors Pre-Qualification Questionnaires for above projects, the preparation of Site Specific Health and Safety Plans plus Traffic Management Plans the preparation of Construction Programmes for above projects, etc.

Forkhill, Co. Armagh

I joined O’Hagan Plant to manage their ongoing projects and to standardise their operational procedures. My role was primarily office based whilst liaising with the various site managers regarding RFI’s, Valuations, Purchase Orders, Specifications, Deliveries plus Project Specific Construction Programmes.

Dundalk Town Council

I joined Dundalk Town Council as a Resident Engineer for the Northern Environs, Service Lands Initiative. During my time with Dundalk Town Council I also acted as Resident Engineer for various regeneration projects.

Dublin

I joined O’Connor Sutton Cronin to project coordinate a number of Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform projects. During my time with OCSC my core responsibilities included the coordination of the Design Team, and the in-house engineers, during the design phase of each project to ensure that the tender programme and initial budget were adhered to, the coordination of the bi-weekly Site, Design Team and Client meetings, whilst also maintaining regular site visits to respond to contractor’s RFIs and to ensure that construction was on programme and within budget, the scheduling of the commissioning of all plant and carrying out of Client training plus the completion and review of the Safety File to ensure that all alterations are incorporated and recorded, evaluation of Interim Valuations and Final Accounts plus resolving all contractors’ claims/variations. During my time with OCSC I was also involved in several private developments. My role on these private development projects was to liaise with the various utility providers to co-ordinate the possible service routes to the site, plus identify the associated costs prior to the completion of the detailed design and a Planning Application to the Local Authority.

Leixlip, Co. Kildare And Hudson, Massachusetts

I joined Project Management Ltd., as part of their team based on-site in Intel®. Intel were undergoing a complete re-fit of the Fabrication Facilities to update their manufacturing process. I was seconded to Intel’s facility in Massachusetts, Apr ’00 – Nov ’00, to lead up the structural department for the re-fit of Intel’s recently bought facility in Hudson. In this role I was also responsible for the training-up and orientation of the structural department.I was transferred back to Intel Ireland at the end of this project to lead up the Structural Dept for the new FAB 24 project, which was subsequently delayed

I was initially hired to carry out detailed analysis of structural elements for all projects. However as the business expanded into the English market it quickly became apparent that a project manager was required for the larger contracts. My role evolved into completing the on-site management of projects, from taking of the initial survey, through the design process, to the hand over to the client.
