We started our intern program about 4 months ago, and Trung was one of our first hires. From the first interview, Trung displayed interest and a deep understanding of what our company does, without much explanation. More importantly, he showed a deep intent to learn whatever he needed to learn to get the job done. At that point, I decided to hire him, and that has been my best hiring decision yet. Trung’s first responsibility was to create a web scraper for a certain website that we needed to aggregate data from. This was a task that I gave all of my interns (8 of them). Trung finished his first scrapper much faster than any other intern in the program, even though he was probably one of the busiest, as he was also doing summer classes at the same time. In fact, Trung’s scraper was so good that I told all the other interns to base their scrappers off of his, and the rest of the interns managed to finish their work relatively faster. Not only did Trung stop there, but he kept making improvements to his scrappers, with or without my guidance. He constantly asked for my feedback, which I appreciated, and never failed to deliver. Not only did he work on numerous web scrapers, but he also worked directly on the frontend of our website, something that we plan to show to hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of customers. No matter the task, Trung delivered results quickly, cleanly, and effectively. He also owned any project that he took on, constantly maintaining and updating it to the company’s needs. I use Trung’s code on an almost daily basis, whether it be making modifications to the frontend of the website, or using the numerous scrappers that he made by himself. It is not an exaggeration to say that Trung is our best intern by far. I can only hope to find another engineer as intelligent, dedicated, and determined as Trung. "
