Global Royalty involves receiving data from around the world about music usage. As a Royalty Coordinator, I investigated statements in order to verify the proper disbursement of royalties for copyright holders in the US and Canada. I studied the incoming data, researched when necessary and input the figures in order to process an accurate payment. For complete processing, I balanced statements, met on-going deadlines and often completed special projects alongside the typical assignments (as requested by supervisors). I valued and sought to maintain the accuracy and efficiency of the data and the processing. The Nashville Movement was a social justice organization committed to the establishment of a living wage in Nashville. We specifically worked to document wage violations at a local car wash. I compiled the data of the wages of hundreds of employees in order to analyze and then compute the proper due wages and back pay based on the current legal standard of employment. These efforts resulted in successful litigation that provided claimants back pay and ensured a living wage for all present and future employees. Skills acquired: SQL (Structured Query Language) for a high-functioning Microsoft Access database

As Volunteer Coordinator for Hands On New Orleans, I organized and scheduled visits for people to volunteer with the organization in New Orleans. Hands On connected volunteers with homeowners in need after Hurricane Katrina across the city. I handled all communication with potential volunteers in order to guarantee housing for the duration of their stay as well as meaningful work in order to fulfill the wishes of the volunteers and the needs of the homeowners. The focus of the summer of 2007 was strategic planning for the future of the organization. Throughout the summer I maintained the internal database of volunteer information and assisted with projects in the community.
