As the Head of Public Affairs APAC at Trinasolar's International Center, I spearhead strategic initiatives that shape our public affairs footprint across Singapore, APAC, and globally. My mission is to forge impactful partnerships, engage key stakeholders, and drive initiatives that advance Trinasolar's leadership in solar energy, battery energy storage, and sustainable solutions.As a pioneer in developing our APAC public affairs strategy from the ground up, I established a comprehensive regulatory tracking system and framework for APAC. I strategically align Trinasolar's international expansion with the evolving regulatory landscape, creating opportunities for cross-border collaboration and market growth. By cultivating strong relationships with government bodies, trade associations, and international partners, I position Trinasolar at the forefront of renewable energy transformation, with a focus on solar and battery technologies.I anticipate market dynamics, craft high-impact engagement strategies, and serve as a strategic bridge between our organization and key stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Review and approve applications, deviations and appeals related to consumer product laws• Advise importers on compliance and regulatory issues, particularly for consumer products• Conduct policies, processes, legislation reviews with Legal teams to assess gaps and propose actions up to Ministry level• Represent Enterprise Singapore at international/regional conferences on consumer product safety to ensure policy harmonisation and consolidate findings for senior management• Assess local/overseas conformity & test laboratories for the regulatory scheme, verify controlled consumer goods and measurement instruments used for trade• Plan market surveillance, product testing and inspections and devise enforcement strategy using data analytics • Investigate incident and alleged infringement involving consumer products and generate written reports• Participate in technical discussions involving local & international partners, trade & consumer associations, regulatory bodies, and international organisations• Initiate and implement public outreach programmes to educate the masses on consumer product safetyKey Contributions / Career Highlights:• Improved efficiency to target resources and cost-effectively cover more grounds by analysing data to identify higher-risk products, retailers, and locations• Investigated the root cause of incidents and developed new requirements to improve product safety for consumers• Collaborated with Legal teams from renowned retail MNCs such as Amazon, Qoo10, and Lazada in exploring potential strategies to promote consumer safety • Reviewed existing policies to identify gaps and implemented an improved management framework that reduced the time needed for procedural requirements from 127 days to 30 days• Successfully cracked a tricky/high profile infringement case involving a recalcitrant fan supplier supplying non-compliant fans• Coordinated a major product recall that achieved over 90% recall rate

• Oversee teams in managing regulation of regional retail landscape: ensure continued compliance of retailers to consumer product safety regulations; investigate alleged infringements; audit and monitor registration scheme subcontractors; liaise with firms to review major incidents and devise solutions. Assess teams’ highlighted issues and decide on follow-up actions.• Conduct landscape scans on a monthly basis to identify international regulatory changes/implementations. Analyse potential impact of changes, determine appropriate policy responses, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to author reports for presentation to senior management.• Direct team of 4 in managing Consumer Product Safety (CPS) regulations system: review and approve applications, deviations, and appeals; delegate workstreams, and chair regular progress update meetings. Advise importers on compliance and regulatory issues, with particular emphasis on electrical/gas household appliances.• Partner Legal teams in conducting legislation reviews, assessing gaps in organisation’s powers and scope, and formulating recommendations for proposal to senior management up to Ministry level.• Represent Enterprise Singapore at international/regional conferences, presenting on local regulations, collaborating with counterparts in ensuring policy harmonisation, and consolidating findings for presentation to senior management.• Create and launch public engagement/outreach campaigns to educate consumers and suppliers on key regulatory issues.• Conduct assessment on local/overseas conformity assessment bodies and test laboratories for CPS scheme.

I was appointed to oversee all quality assurance & control aspects in adherence to customer specifications as well as foster robust relations with clients and classification societies. I coordinated routine inspections of materials, fabricated products and documents through visual inspections and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT); mediate between client and organisation to resolve non-compliance. In my time here, we successfully saved SGD 3.3M yearly by using vacuum pack electrodes, conducted a feasibility study and implemented the new technology across the organisation, which won an Innovation Award as well as reduced processing time by 50% by building a server-based centralised database that enabled cross-department data sharing. In this role, I collaborated with the innovation team to conceptualise and present a Confined Space Safety Alarm System as a Health Safety Excellence initiative, which won a Gold Award in innovation.

-Assigned to Material Science Lab division to do failure analysis and hard disk coating research.-Analysed and identified sample results to determine the cause of failure with suitable spectroscopy and technological programs.-Accomplished in the area of surface characterisation with the use of state-of-the-art equipment such as X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) and Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES).
