●Direct the Education Department for CPAWS SAB.●Coordinate daily operations and efficient functioning of the department including program development, booking, delivery, planning, resource management, evaluation and expansion of CPAWS’ environmental education programs.●Manage fund development and reporting for the department.●Ensure all programs are up to date, link to the curriculum, use the latest science and incorporate CPAWS conservation campaigns.●Manage strategic planning and creating an annual implementation plan for the department.●Implement the operational plan and manage the education budget.●Represent CPAWS SAB in the field and building strong relationships with funders, colleagues, supporters, media and other stakeholders.●Liase with the conservation and communication department staff to support the department.●Recruit, supervise, train and evaluate education staff, contractors and volunteers.●Manage all permits, master agreements and risk management plans.●Ensure all laws, regulations and policies are followed.●Provide leadership for the department to fulfill its goals and objectives, increase capacity and strengthen programming.●Maintain a standard of excellence that has been achieved and recognized in the industry.●Coordinate marketing plan for the department.●Oversee billing procedures and subsidy approvals.●Manage education database and website.●Coordinate Action Challenge Initiative and associated awards annually.●Complete conference applications, education booths, workshops and professional development.

●Coordinate and deliver the Calgary region Little Green Thumbs program: a school-based indoor gardening program for all grade levels designed to increase students' agricultural awareness, develop gardening knowledge and skills and connect children with nature.●Train, support, coordinate, communicate and problem-solve with the Little Green Thumbs teachers. ●Design and deliver interactive in-class activities with the Little Green Thumbs students.●Manage program supplies, budget, reporting, evaluation and growth.●Train, coordinate and schedule volunteers.●Act as the Calgary Zoo media spokesperson for the program.

●Deliver the GroundWorks, Seedling and Wild About Weeding programs: outreach programs for K-9 schools which mentor teachers in the planning and use of their gardens or natural areas as a teaching space●Coordinate and schedule with schools, model outdoor curriculum-based activities, develop new activities and resources for teachers and support schools through the naturalization process●Assist in the delivery of teacher professional development sessions

●Research, develop and present interpretive programs for Zoo visitors of all ages in an educational and entertaining manner ●Collect and record statistics on program attendance●Critique peer programs and provide constructive feedback

•Delivery of sleepover programs including educational tours, crafts games and skits; Responsible for guest safety overnight at the zoo •Responsible for hosting children’s birthday parties, which consist of educational tours, crafts, games, presents and cake •Development and delivery of private tours and tailored educational programs

● Work as part of a team to provide a strong and effective program● Supervise and work with junior and senior high school students● Assist in teaching Grade 9-11 Mathematics, Science and C.A.L.M.● Undertake clerical duties including computer work, record keeping,filing and communication with parents and staff
