About Jeff Finlay

Recently embarked on a new role leading a team of Microsoft 365 professionals at a large state university.I formerly managed and provided Level 3 support for a fleet of 2,300+ Macs and iPads at the same large state university. This was the third university where I've been either the sole or lead IT team member who integrated Jamf Pro into their IT environments. At all 3 institutions, I was involved in standing up Jamf Pro from the discovery stage through the implementation stage and I collectively managed the Jamf Pro environment for nearly 10 years. I have an active Mobility+ cert from CompTIA, as well as the Apple ACSP, the ITIL v4 Foundation, the CJIS Awareness Level 4 and the JAMF Software CCT and JCA (Jamf 300) certifications.I also have 13 years of experience in media production, the last 7 of those as a manager in higher education. In 2018, I taught a video production course for Texas A&M-San Antonio as a member of the adjunct faculty.Even when I was in management, technical support was always a part of my higher ed work, as I was the Level 1 and Level 2 support provider for my unit's computers and servers. I also spent over a year in a remote worker position with a startup, working as a technical support representative for a VoIP provider. I managed two online support communities for that company and directly resolved customer support issues.I also enjoy working online. I managed the social media presence for my department at Texas A&M In addition to professional experience managing two user communities, I volunteered for three years as a moderator at one of the nation's largest relocation-focused message boards.I'm experienced in graphic design. I'm proficient with Photoshop CC and can work with Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects. I have experience with and coursework in Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro 7. The university course I taught included video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.Outside of work, I served for 2 years as an alternate member of the City of San Antonio Zoning Board of Adjustment, a city board that reviews requests for zoning variances. I also served for 10 years there as president of my Homeowners Association and a total of 12 years on its board of directors. More recently, I served 2 years as board treasurer and am currently board president of my Homeowners Association in Athens.
