Working with BH has given me a wide range of opportunities to develop myself as a lighting technician, whether working on my own in small settings or as part of a team working on theatrical shows, live music concerts or festivals. As a technician and lighting designer, my work includes setting up/rigging equipment, designing lighting rigs and programming and operating equipment, all while working at speed and maintaining safe working measures.Having occasionally worked as a freelancer for the company since September 2021, I became a part-time employee of the company in January, extending my skills from merely working on-site but also to working as an operations assistant; representing the company and creating quotes for potential clients, working in a warehouse environment to manage and maintain equipment, PAT testing items before they leave for hires and preparing and sending out hires, along with managing the company's social media.

After leaving full-time education here, I was asked back on numerous occasions to work on hires of the school's theatre and the school's yearly musical, after which I became a contracted technician for the school. Here, my work mostly concerns external hirers who wish to use the school's facilities for their own performances - I operate both lighting and sound for clients, and liase with them so as to determine their technical requirements before they arrive. I also sometimes work with others in the performing arts department, helping them to bring their visions to life via sound and lighting when it comes to musicals, theatrics or dance performances. Occasionally I also work with students, helping them develop technical skills and instructing them how to work quickly, properly and safely.

Alongside my current work, I also take on other pieces of work here and there of my own accord. Most notably, I have worked alongside Mi Flamenco as a touring technician for their production of “Echoes”, a multimedia flamenco show, along with working with a few local venues, such as Hanger Farm in Totton and Forest Arts in New Milton.
