Started life there working for Digital Equipment Corporation (later acquired by HP) as a Component Engineer, liaising with various departments with a view to modifying component designs sourced from European Suppliers. This involved a broad range of responsibilities, including dealing with Quality / Component testing to Procurement / Finding alternative sources that met the Companies exacting Quality standards, and at the right price, availability etc. Gained valuable experience in dealing with high level personnel, becoming a skilled negotiator, as well as adhering to various planning and scheduling procedures.
