About Finn Does
Finn Does is a Bay Area-based Gen-Z climate justice, and climate mental health student-organizer focused on addressing the climate emergency through youth inclusion, worker rights, and accessible solution-framed climate communications. They’re concerned about climate change as a threat-multiplier, crisis of communication, mobility and international security issue, and an ever-intensifying psychological storm. These motivations drive their intergenerational organizing, as he co-builds bridges between on-the-ground grassroots climate, civic, labor, mutual aid, arts, Indigenous, and public health organizations to topple the fossil fuel industry while co-preparing our communities, country, and globe for climate adaptation. He is an Advisor (previously Co-Chair) to the Bay Area Youth Climate Summit (BAYCS), an entirely youth-led Gen-Z environmental justice education, political advocacy, and mutual aid non-profit that connects youth—especially those on the frontlines of the climate crisis—with climate solutions and the institutions meant to serve them. During his time at BAYCS, he worked alongside his team to unite over 8,000 Bay Area high schoolers, over 230 high schools, and over 60 local and national climate solutions incubators, think tanks, and organizations through nearly 100 grassroots workshops. In addition to BAYCS, Finn examines how intersectionality shapes youths' climate emotions and in turn behaviors towards activism. He is currently co-directing the largest California-wide study to date on identity-informed youth climate-driven psychological distress. He's dedicated to supporting impact-driven organizations by consulting and speaking on bipartisan climate solutions and engaging Gen-Z in civic life. He works with national nonprofits, campus groups, and K-12 and higher education programs. His community-rooted work has led him to receive collaborations with, and recognition from the UN, PBS, the U.S. Department of State, Newsweek, the California Academy of Sciences, and the San Francisco Environment Department.Finn is pursuing a B.S. in Society & Environment, with a minor in Public Policy at UC Berkeley.
