F Reynolds Engineering is a mechanical engineering consultancy which I started in 2010. I provide a range of mechanical engineering skills to companies on a contract basis.My first contract role through this company was with the vehicle engineering side of Ricardo. I worked as a Bill of Materials (BOM) engineer for the prestigious Ocelot military vehicle project. This role required long hours with great attention to detail to avoid costly mistakes, along with excellent Excel skills.I was tasked with taking control of and improving the bill of materials for the project which involved managing large amounts of data and ensuring it was stored in a fashion that made it easy for others (both colleagues and clients) to understand and successfully use. I received very positive feedback from both my client (Ricardo) and Ricardo's project client for my work.-------------------------------The second major project won by F Reynolds Engineering Ltd was to provide a vehicle integration engineer to Ford, at their Dagenham Diesel Centre (DDC). The role requires both technical knowledge and project management skills to balance the differing needs of vehicle and engine teams in pursuit of delivering a single engine across very different vehicle platforms.

Working as a project manager with Martinus Rail my role was primarily to manage the design, supply and delivery of projects to the Australian rail industry. This included large-scale multi-million dollar turnout projects as well as small-scale site work with hands-on points rodding installation. Throughout all projects the requirement to liaise effectively with clients and suppliers was vital. The work required design and engineering skills as well as communication and multi-tasking proficiency. Additionally the small size of the company ensured my involvement in all aspects of the business. My experience included developing estimates and tender documents, meeting with prospective clients, developing proposals and assisting with financial accounts. Outside of project work I played a key role in the development of working processes that assisted in the company gaining ISO 9001 quality accredication. My expertise with Microsoft Excel enabled me to develop working documents for quotation development and continual project tracking that could be used prior to the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

In this role I worked in the analysis department of this large automotive engineering consultancy. Principally I undertook finite element analysis tasks on various engine components. I have experience using Ricardo's in-house software FeaRCE and Engdyn along with 3rd party software Nastran, Abaqus and Hypermesh.
