As I finished school in the summer of 2016 my first thoughts on what I wanted to do were still undecided, I took it upon myself to apply for a vary of different job roles and take the one which appealed to me the most. Ribble Valley Borough Council offered me an Accounting Technician Apprenticeship. I accepted this role and gave it a go because Accounting is within some of my many interests. As I started in October 2016 I really enjoyed the work I was given, the people around me were nice and welcoming, however the one thing that put me off this role was the travel to work. The travel was a problem and eventually began to get worse and worse as I took the train to Clitheroe and with how the trains are, it made it hard to get in on time and get home at a reasonable time.I resigned from the job role in March 2018 with no hard feelings towards the workplace or the work members, they wished me all the best and as did I with them.The work I go to do was varied and I got to experience how a council works, it allowed me to open up my mind and figure out what I wanted to do in the next couple of years. Accounting is still on the cards and I would like to re-try that work another time.
