I advise on succession and tax planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney, executries and estate administration, trusts and family investment companies. I am also part of our mental health steering group “BeMindful” and am passionate about Burness Paull continuing to develop our fantastic suite of resources and initiatives, as well as a culture where everyone in the firm is supported in relation to their mental health and well-being. I have undertaken many courses of further study, including the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates for Scotland, achieving Distinction in all elements and being awarded Student of the Year prizes in 2012 (Trusts) and 2013 (Trust and Executry Accounting) and the award for STEP Outstanding Student of the Year for Scotland 2012 / 2013. I also completed the STEP Certificate in Trusts and Estates (England and Wales), achieving the Top Student Award at the 2016 Worldwide Excellence Awards.I have a great passion for the academic side of law, and thoroughly enjoy my time tutoring on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Aberdeen, and guest lecturing on the interaction of private client law and ethical practice / patient care for the Physiotherapy course at Robert Gordon University.Outside of work I am usually with my dog - my cockapoo, Brodie - who is full of fun and keeps me busy, active and outdoors. I enjoy reading books and spending time with friends and family. My absolute passion is travel - 56 countries and 10 US States visited so far - many more on the bucket list!
