About Fiona Deane
I am an English teacher whose expertise is in the preparation of students for high stakes internationally recognized English qualifications. I have most experience in preparing students for Cambridge and IELTS exams. I obtained distinction in the Trinity TESOL Diploma and have recently completed an EAP training course at LSE University.I have five years´ experience teaching IELTS and currently specialize in teaching students at bands 3 – 4.5 and in working with Arabic speakers. I In the future, I am keen to resume my examining work either with Cambridge, Trinity or IELTS.I have seven years´ experience in Cambridge (CPE, CAE, FCE), have worked as a Cambridge examiner and was based for four years at a Language school in Spain that also doubled as a Cambridge Examinations centre. My knowledge of Cambridge exams is therefore extensive. I have excellent personal skills and I am a great team player. I am passionate about seeing students´ progress and helping them achieve satisfaction in their learning. I have come to learn that no two students are alike and I relish helping each learner with their journey and challenges. Over the last three years, I have gained considerable experience running teacher training sessions both as INSETS and as intensive courses for visiting teachers from outside the UK.In addition, I have a wide experience of administrative responsibilities. In Spain, I held the positions of Senior Tutor and Director of Studies managing 400 students and 18 staff. Having lived in Spain for eleven years, I am fluent in Spanish and hold the C2 DELE qualification for Spanish.
