As EA to the Group Manager of Indigenous Affairs the role was busy! Dealing with Ministers, Heads of Dept's, Secretary's of Dept's, staff and many many other people on a daily basis, the role is varied but fun. We have to think on our feet, be calm under pressure, get the work done quickly and efficiently, whilst still smiling! We have short turn around time for briefs, meetings get scheduled and then cancelled, as do flights, cars, cabs, appts, and travel in general. We have to be on time, reliable, trustworthy and be able to work unsupervised. We can be in charge of the whole floor whilst our managers are away on Govt business, therefore we have to be diplomatic and helpful to other Managers and Branch Heads. We can often be asked to fill in for other EA's when we are short, so we can be doing 1, 2 or 3 jobs in one day if required. The good thing is that the job is fun if you like people, it can be exhilarating when dealing with Parliament and Ministers every day, fitting meetings into time slots that don't exist, but we make it happen! We can do it all it seems, and you can, if you focus, have 100% confidence in yourself and do not self doubt for one minute. I can run any office now, I can do whatever it takes to make the day run smoothly and successfully and I will make a business work! I have business sense, and I can make changes that you had never dreamed you could.

I ran my own Speakers Bureau for some years, promoting, and working with celebrity speakers in the corporate world. Again, it was fast paced, fun, busy, and with total discretion in mind the whole time. An enjoyable and successful business model that was simple to run, with proven results.

We were great at selling and getting the best fee's for our speakers, and they were happy to have the bookings because it showcased them to the corporate world. All in all, a great role for good sales people and for those who enjoyed the fast pace and complexity of celebrities and celebrity speakers.
