About Fiona Downey
I am a highly experienced Speech Pathologist working in the field since 2010. I relocated to Sydney in 2019 and am currently working as a Speech Pathologist with Royal Far West in Manly. In my new position I am developing my skills in telehealth and working as part of a multi-disciplinary assessment team. I have enjoyed learning about rural Australia and working with children and their families from regional and remote areas. I have primarily worked in the public health service in Ireland, working with the HSE from 2012-2019. I have experience working with clients across the lifespan including providing services to school aged children presenting with complex needs, children aged 0-18 presenting with speech and language difficulties, children with developmental language disorders and speech disorder, adults in the acute hospital setting, adults presenting with disorders of communication and/or swallowing living in the community, adults residing in aged-care homes. I have experience managing caseloads and developing services. I have worked within a Multi-Disciplinary Team and within a team of Speech and Language Therapists. I am highly committed to evidence based practice and continuing my professional development.
