He is a honorary senior lecturer in the human bone cell research at the University of Liverpool and The University of Salford. He is included on the Specialist Register as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Mr Hayton is a full time Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Wrightington Hospital with a private practice at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle. Over the last few years Mike has developed a special interest in sports medicine and is the hand surgeon to over 30 professional sports teams and national sporting bodies. He is a Founding Fellow in the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (FFSEM UK) and is now an examiners for this faculty. He is also an Examiner for the FRCS(Tr and Orth). He is a keen teacher and regularly lectures in the UK, Europe and the USA. This year he has been invited to lecture at three North American conferences including the Philadelphia Hand, The Mayo Clinic and at the American Society of Surgery of the Hand. Mr Chye Yew Ng is a Consultant Hand and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in all aspects of hand and wrist surgery. He has a particular interest in the management of peripheral nerve injuries and sports injuries. Mr Ng graduated from the University of Edinburgh as the gold medallist in 2002. He subsequently completed orthopaedic training in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and was awarded Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2011. He then spent the following two years pursuing advanced subspecialty training by completing an Upper Limb Fellowship in Wrightington Hospital and a National Interface (Orthoplastic) Hand Fellowship in Manchester. After completion of training in the UK, he was awarded the prestigious travelling fellowship by the British Orthopaedic Association to obtain additional training in brachial plexus surgery and microsurgery at centres of excellence in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. During his fellowship training, he successfully obtained postgraduate certification in hand surgery from both the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the European Board of Hand Surgery. Notably, he won the best performance award in the European hand diploma examination 2013.Mr Ng also maintains a strong interest in education and research. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to a major textbook in hand surgery, and presented at many national and international scientific meetings.
