• Invited by Durham University’s Institute for Medical Humanities and the Northern Network for Medical Humanities Research to develop a funding bid for a project exploring the use of visual and material culture for research and engagement purposes within the medical humanities. • Recruited a team of seven co-collaborators from different disciplines and institutions across the Northern Network to assist in developing and delivering the bid. • Successfully secured Wellcome Trust funding of £29,938 for Thinking Through Things: Object Encounters in the Medical Humanities. • The project comprises an innovative programme of activities designed to stimulate interdisciplinary debate around the holding of Wellcome Collection. Activities centre around two workshops, the first at Wellcome Collection in early 2020, the second at a Northern Network institution in summer 2020. Project outputs include a series of linked podcasts, essays and interviews, showcasing the project’s findings; a Working Knowledge Project Short outlining best practice for ‘doing’ medical humanities with objects; and a sustainable network of collaborators for further projects. Additionally, the programme supports ECRs in acquiring the necessary skills for working with objects for research and engagement purposes, and enables ECRs to form professional connections outside of the academy, laying the groundwork for future research, outreach, and engagement activities.

• Commissioned, edited and published over 100 original articles on topics related to critical and visual medical humanities between September 2018 and December 2020. • As acting Editor-in-Chief from October 2019 to 2020 (maternity leave cover), I managed a team of eight associate editors and columnists, and was responsible for maintaining and developing the overall quality and relevance of the platform.

• Module co-leader, ‘The Critical Image’, level 5 Contextual Studies programme for BA Photography students (2019-2020)• Supervised, marked and moderated final year dissertations for BA Photography students.

• Delivered a series of invited lecturers on portraiture from 1500 to the present day; set essay questions and marked assessments.

• My contribution to this collaborative project on contemporary personalisation focussed on portraiture (and particularly data-portraiture) as a ‘personalising practice’ and as a mode of figuration through which ‘the person’ is constructed.• Outputs included a published interview with artist Felicity Allen, an article on Heather Dewey Hagborg’s 2019 commission for The Photographers’ Gallery, a presentation at the Association for Art History’s 2019 Annual Conference, and invited presentations at workshops AI in Museums (Goldsmiths, 2019) and The Human, Data, and Exhibitionary Cultures (UCL, 2018).

• Supervised 12-week research projects for students enrolled on the BSc in Medical Sciences with Humanities, Philosophy and Law.

• Delivered guest lectures and seminars on the level 5 Critical Contexts module and supervised final year dissertations; responsible for marking and assessment of coursework.
