I support students aged 5 – 16, in a range of subjects.I have a current DBS check.I offer an initial free trial session, during which I work with the parents/ guardians and the prospective student to ascertain their hopes and aims for support.An agreed learning plan is developed for each student. This is regularly reviewed. Examples : quick revision sessions: exam technique focus: confidence building: regular weekly meeting; offered both in and outside term time.Flexibility is essential to cater for individual needs. I have an Honours Degree in Psychology ( Portsmouth University) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Bath Spa University). I also trained, qualified and worked as a lead Directress in Montessori Education ( London School of Montessori), which is based on critical phases of learning and self-correcting methodology. I hold an International Association of Hypnoanalysts qualification, which is valuable in enabling students to feel calm and positive about their learning. I have over 25 years experience in Somerset, Wiltshire and BANES in both the public and private sectors, I have also worked within the careers service particularly with young people, with additional support needs, including being young parents, those effected by bereavement, health issues reducing schooling, housing problems etc enabling them to make decisions about pathways and routes to their preferred career paths. This was linked to charities and other support services.
