I’m best known for stand up paddleboarding 800 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats, despite my fear of the sea, and was featured across print, radio and TV, including on BBC Breakfast. My happy place is spending time outside using human powered forms of transport. These journeys give me inspiration to see the world differently, and my stories of whirlpools and cake stops help others to see the opportunity in adversity too. By writing and speaking about adventure and sustainable business, I encourage others to start before they’re ready (I’d only paddled on the sea 3 times before I left Land’s End) and to face their fears by adopting an open mindset. In the same way that the idea of paddlebaording across the Irish Sea and loosing sight of land might seem like a crazy thing to do, starting a completely plant-based ice cream business in a deeply traditional farming based English county could be perceived as a bad idea. However, I have first hand experience that both these things are not only possible but incredibly exciting and well worth the leap of faith.
