Global port operator DP World, which acquired British company P&O Ports in March 2006, was the first company to undertake an IPO on Nasdaq Dubai in November 2007 valuing the business in excess of $20 billion. In June 2011 DP World added a main market listing on the London Stock Exchange. The company issued $3.25 billion of corporate debt through a 30-year bond and 10-year sukuk both listed in Dubai and London in 2007. - Guided the Company through global debt capital market transactions and IPO drafting prospectus, creating debt and equity story, pilot fishing and reporting feedback to the Board. Acted as the interface between the Board, Management, Company and advisors in all aspects of the transactions. - Managing the relationship with ratings agencies (Fitch, Moody's, S&P), corporate brokers, regulators, Nasdaq Dubai and London Stock Exchange.- Growing the shareholder register globally through emerging market investors, infrastructure investors and global investors. • Represent DP World alone or with senior management at global investor meetings and representing the company at transport, infrastructure and emerging market conferences worldwide through presentations and 1-1 meetings.• Prepare analysis of monthly and quarterly management accounts for the Board; manage consensus forecasts versus actual results and budget, participate in the internal budget process; assist with valuation models for internal and external use.• Create communications materials and messaging for the investor, media and internal community (strategy, M&A, financial results, analyst presentations, trading updates and investor presentations) including briefing the Board and preparing the management for these announcements.• Regularly report to the Board of Directors and discuss investor related activities at Board Meetings.

As a Partner I was responsible for advising Board Directors, investor relations and corporate communications executives on financial communications strategy, merger and acquisition strategy, shareholder crisis management and implementing communications programmes aimed at shareholders, clients, customers, stakeholders and industry bodies. I gained experience across a diverse range of sectors from retail to engineering to financial services and support service companies including UK listed and unlisted companies and international companies with stakeholders in the UK. Key Responsibilities• Raising the profile of companies and senior management within global, national and sector publications through interviews, press releases and article placement • Positioning companies or individuals as ‘experts’ for example around major industry or economic news or government decisions• Creating thought leadership opportunities using research• Advising Board and Senior Management on M&A transactions, financial calendar and capital markets activitiesI spent considerable time working on media relations outside of the UK and advising on cross-border deals including spending 6 months living in Amsterdam advising on communications strategy and media relations between the US, Australia and Europe. I have coordinated media relations programmes for several of my clients when they have visited the Far East and advised on media activity surrounding the opening of B&Q in China.

I joined Lowe Bell Communications on their Graduate Scheme spending 3 month rotations in Public Affairs, Financial, Corporate / Consumer and their specialist Consulting division. Projects of particular note during my training include launching the ‘Nike Girls in Sport’ campaign with the Government, assisting clients attending the Party Conference season following the successful election of Labour into Government and monitoring parliamentary and committee decisions which impacted on my clients.
