Accountable for leading the Certified learning & development global strategic agenda; (Certified was DPDHL’s global Learning & Development brand). Ensuring the people development agenda contributed to the achievement of the organisation’s growth targets and delivered tangible ROI. Being a global role the art of navigating complex matrix organisations and influencing many key stakeholders is paramount to achieving success. My role required strong team leadership, strategic vision and design, highly effective communication skills and the ability to influence and engage across multiple key stakeholders, both regional and globally.

Reporting directly to the CEO for UKI Supply Chain, this was a new culture change program deployed across the DPDHL group. I was accountable for taking the concept through to reality and effective deployment for our 40,000 employees. This involved designing the organisational structure required to achieve successful deployment, team recruitment and critically UKI board engagement and influencing. Stringent budget management supported by ROI opportunities & cost-effective deployment approaches. Once the team was established, focus moved to the creating the strategic plan for deployment of the Certified agenda, balancing operational pressures and costs with successful deployment of a globally aligned culture change curriculum.

Led the Talent and People Development agenda across the UKI operation, deploying Leadership development and Talent development solutions to align across regional, global and business unit teams. Ensured all development interventions supported the achievement of employee engagement, development and the strategic business priorities.

Led the delivery and deployment of development solutions for both High Potential/Talent Pools and development capability employees. Worked in partnership with the senior operational and functional leads to review, design, deploy and deliver training initiatives aligned to the growth strategies. This was achieved by identifying effective organization capabilities through the development of a competency model for the site operational leaders, complimented by robust learning solutions, addressing Technical, Leadership and Cultural Change topics.
