I trained at Price Waterhouse Leicester office and specialised in audits of medium to large sized companies and PLCs. Having qualified ACA in 1982 with first time passes I transferred to Harper Broom in Maidenhead to widen my experience in accounts and tax for SME’s and to use my experience to successfully develop the audit department. I became a Partner in 1986 and have worked on a wide range of assignments ranging from the sale of family owned companies to assisting a client to full listing on the Stock Exchange.I registered Harper Broom as an ICAEW training office and then over subsequent years was responsible for the training and qualification as ACA’s of many graduate students who have subsequently moved on to partnerships in a range of accountancy practices and other senior positions in commerce and industry. I have been instrumental in the acquisition of three firms of local accountants to extend and widen our client base. In 1999 we also acquired the investment arm of a reputable local firm of Insurance Brokers. I was appointed Director and Chairman of the newly formed Financial Planning Company which has successfully developed to meet clients’ needs.As a Partner at Harper Broom I have additional responsibilities for training, IT and human resources.I am committed to the future development of all aspects of technology, for example cloud accounting and investment platforms, to improve the quality and value for money of our services to clients in both our Accountancy Practice and Financial Planning Company.Having resided in the Royal Borough for over 30 years and brought up two children here I have enjoyed being involved with many aspects of the local community.
