I have spent the past decade fighting for more equitable and sustainable policies, and bring in-depth expertise on food systems, as well as social services and economic justice. In diverse experience across nonprofits, research centers, and city government, I have driven strategic planning, project management, and coalition building to advance effective reform. I have a track record of centering impacted communities in program design and policy advocacy, and see this as essential to creating meaningful change. With extensive experience in policy analysis, communications, and program implementation, I have advanced organizational goals in a variety of contexts. And my agility and passion make me an energetic team player. While earning my MPP between 2018 and 2020, I honed and applied my technical capacities further, while becoming a better informed leader. I currently work as a policy analyst at the San Francisco Human Services Agency, where I am thrilled to support our agency in getting food resources out to those who need it most.

Agricultural Land And Climate ConsultantBerkeley Food Institute Jun 2020 - Aug 2020Berkeley, California, United StatesI supported the Berkeley Food Institute and Berkeley Law's Center for Law, Energy & the Environment in driving sustainable agriculture transitions by leveraging public and private-market dollars. I gathered insights from a roundtable of experts across diverse industries—including farming, finance, research, and policy—, facilitated fruitful conversations bridging disciplinary divides, and sought out further context via research and interviews. My report, "Redefining Agricultural Value and Risk," which outlines recommendations for policy reform and investment opportunities will be published by the participating institutes in September 2020 and used in their advocacy efforts. -
Policy & Legal ConsultantAclu Of Northern California Jan 2020 - Aug 2020San Francisco, California, United StatesIn service of ACLU's efforts to increase accountability for District Attorneys, I produced an advocacy tool to advance their efforts at the regional and state level in California. I conducted rigorous analysis on prosecution data and weaved together quantitative findings with additional research and qualitative inputs that I gathered from interviews with advocates, impacted individuals, and law enforcement. The final report, which illuminates the racially disparate impacts of DA decisions at the county level, lays out recommendations for reform that would help to interrupt the cycle of poverty and incarceration endemic to jurisdictions across the state. It will be published in fall 2020. -
Graduate Student InstructorUniversity Of California, Berkeley, Goldman School Of Public Policy Aug 2018 - May 2020Berkeley, CaEdible Education 101, Haas School of Business — Spring 2020I managed a 5 person teaching team in planning for and running Berkeley's "Edible Education 101" course. This 200-student weekly class and speaker series featured over 30 food systems leaders from across the region, state, and country—and also brought in many community members each week via YouTube Livestream and in-person participation. The course was founded by Alice Waters and Michael Pollan and remains a favorite among Cal undergraduates and graduate students. I was in charge of all course logistics—from grading, to student correspondence and managing TA duties—as well as the event-related responsibilities—such as coordinating between IT, funders, and university staff, and designing structures for community engagement. I also taught a weekly graduate student section.Law and Public Policy, Goldman School of Public Policy — Fall 2019 As a graduate student instructor for this master's level course, I handled grading, facilitated communication with students, ran study sessions, and taught sections. The course introduces MPP students to the fundamentals of law in the public policy context, starting with a constitutional foundation and moving towards more substantive questions about the role of law and the court system in the making of public policy. -
Public Service AideSan Francisco Human Services Agency - Planning Unit Jun 2019 - Aug 2019San Francisco, California, United StatesMy primary responsibility with the Human Services Agency (HSA) was producing an implementation and evaluation plan for a program pilot coordinating services between HSA and the Department of Public Health, as well as San Francisco’s free diaper program. I analyzed regulations for WIC, CalFresh, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, and other social services to better coordinate systems and programs for low-income families. I developed a suite of documents including an implementation plan, project timeline, eligibility matrix, a formal report with a literature review, and training materials to be used by the team. I had routine contact with staff throughout and beyond the agency and represented the Planning Unit and HSA more broadly during these meetings. I presented my final implementation plan to agency leadership at the end of the project. I also developed an assessment and evaluation of the Diabetes Prevention Program, using pre-and post-survey data and analysis in Stata, and prepared a program evaluation report.
