Working in the busy acute medical admissions initial assessment ward. The role involved personal care of patients, recording basic patient observations such as blood pressure, heart rate and blood glucose concentration, as well as transporting patients safely to other hospital departments.

Supporting adults with additional support needs to enjoy a valued life and to maintain as much independence as possible. Duties include delivery of personal care, administration of medication, medication audits/ordering, social activities and monitoring/recording of health and personal information. I also liaise with other health professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Doctors, reporting appropriate information on behalf of the people we support.

Clinical audit of heart rhythm recorders, including Reveal implantable loop recorders, patient activated devices and King of Hearts monitors. The aim of the audit was to determine the clinical diagnostic yield of each of the devices within the patient cohort studied. The outcome of this audit influenced a major purchasing decision by NHS Grampian.
