Working as the clinical and service lead for our electronic assistive technology service which specialises in assessing young people with complex neurodisability for communication, access to technology and access to powered mobility. I also lead clinics within assistive technology focused around 24hr postural management including custom made special seating. I work closely with the Chailey Communication Aid Service assessing and prescribing communication systems to children and adults with complex communication difficulties, including integrating their access between their powered mobility and communication aid to allow a simpler overall system allowing greater independence.

This position involves furthering research into the functional outcomes during overground walking for participants with robotically-assisted surgically implanted knee replacements and those with conventional replacements. The current work is a follow up study and will look at the participants five years post-op using Vicon motion capture. I assist within the motion capture lab setting up the equipment, marking the participant, explaining the task, cleaning and processing the gathered data.
