• Responsible for the overall day-to-day accounting function including transaction processing, payroll, reporting and financial control• Preparation of timely management and financial information, including monthly management accounts, Annual Report, Interim Statement for dual listed Group• Management of annual audit and liaison with valuation specialists• Preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts, though working closely with Research Teams• Tax compliance, including transfer pricing, R&D tax credits and VAT• Supporting Group CEO with fund raising activities in dual markets• Responsible for human resources, facilities management and IT• Management of a small finance and administrative team• Managed the sourcing and re-location of Midatech’s offices and laboratories in Cardiff during the Covid pandemic

• Reporting financial information to Welsh Government, Board and sub-committees, including monthly reporting • Oversee Financial Accounts including treasury management and annual accounts• Manage Central Transaction Processing Team • Management and development of Health Board’s financial systems• Lead point of contact in the maintenance of an effective Counter Fraud service• Provide financial support to the Health Board’s charitable / endowment funds• Responsible for the Leadership and Development program for the Finance Department

Delivering financial information in an accurate and timely fashion, including monthly management reporting to the Board• Co-ordinating year end and interim group audit, including planning the audit with the Divisional Finance Directors and the company’s auditors• Managing the budgeting and forecasting process• Supervising group internal audit• Optimising cash flow through effective treasury management – including oversight of weekly cash forecasts for short term requirements and preparation of projections for longer term funding• Advising on / assisting with acquisitions (pre and post acquisition) • Dealing with tax matters for the Group and ensuring compliance with statutory tax obligations. Lead relationship with HMRC CRM in UK as Chime is deemed to be a ‘large group’• Collating and preparing information for presentation to stakeholders• Reviewing, revising and policing effective financial controls• Supervising central finance team, both qualified and part qualified accountants and group finance systems staff
