• Lead a creative team of 6 designers to deliver innovative design services, branding and procurement advice to internal clients and Ministers’ Offices.• Acknowledge, schedule, process design requests, capturing client briefs, forecasting deadlines, assigning tasks, monitoring workflows, adjusting team priorities.• Oversee/action quality assurance checks on all design material and drive user-focused content across both traditional and digital media.• Strategically plan, provide user-focused solutions and contribute to the department’s vision, goals and key objectives.• Provide art direction and expert advice to the department, branches and enabling services (including media liaison, strategic communication, advertising campaign management, social media engagement, internal communication and creative video, animation and graphic design).• Provide technical detail, support, recommendations ensuring internally and externally facing content is inline with the department’s brand and guidelines.• Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the department’s corporate identity and brand strategy.• Communicate daily with clients on multiple projects ensuring consistency, adherence to digital requirements and best practices.• Support and manage client expectations, mitigate risk, implement strategies and lead design initiatives within the department.• Provide updates on key priorities to the Communications/Creative Services Director and Assistant Secretary.• Prepare documentation for the design team to assist with standard operating procedures.• Oversee templates and outsourcing tasks to freelance designers, printing companies and agencies.• Manage team members and their professional development—building individual and team capability.
