I currently work as a Customer Service Assistant (Culture & Heritage) at Archives: Wigan & Leigh.No two days at my job are the same and I undertake a range of varied tasks. My duties include:+ Customer service - answering emails, phone calls & in-person queries + Archival-based research and assistant tasks e.g cataloguing new accessions and packaging archival material+ Working in collaboration with others on 'Past Forward' our local history magazine e.g producing magazine cover ideas and organising a section for young people+ Producing social media content - under my CSA role I am responsible for co-producing content for 'The Fire Within' which is a programme designed at promoting arts and cultural opportunities within the Wigan borough (Instagram, Twitter & Facebook). I specifically research funding opportunities available to creatives/charities in the local area. I also produce content to advertise events held at the Archives. Counter clerk duties included: cashing handling, postal work, bill payments and the processing of passports and driving licences.

This role included tasks such as: + Attending online & in person offer holder days: engaging with prospective students and giving lectures on student experience.+ Contributing to a project that engaged with first-gen students at the university and asks about their positive experiences. For this project, I designed Instagram stories and collated survey responses

As a representative, it was my job to collate and feedback on the concerns of sociology students to the department via events such as faculty forums & student-staff committees. This role enabled me to work on transferrable skills such as organisation and communication.

Within this role I:+Maintained clean and sanitized work areas in accordance with food safety guidelines and removed rubbish regularly to keep workspaces neat and clean - especially in food storage areas to prevent potential pests.+Upheld overall productivity within the kitchen by assuring both cooking apparatus used by staff and serving plates were cleaned within a timely manner - especially in busy periods, aiding short wait times for customers and improving overall satisfaction.
