This new function for SEPA will provide services that support internal and external innovation. It will spot and create opportunities that allow SEPA to deliver practical, transformative actions. It will: - Lead on providing practical support to SEPA staff in the development of Sustainable Growth Agreements. - Develop and lead a number of key relationships with non-regulated bodies in support of the practical delivery of SEPA's sectoral approach. For example with the finance and retail sectors, including influencing supply chain requirements. - Help create the conditions for innovation across SEPA, working internally to support specific internal initiatives. - Lead on SEPA's partnership on the Centre for Sustainable Practice and Living.

Carry out appropriate internal engagement to ensure a co-ordinated approach to the provision of advice and guidance within SEPA.March 2012-present: Low Carbon and Environmental Innovation lead for SEPA, involving both internal and external engagement activities to ensure that as Scotalnd's environmental regulator, SEPA supports the development of low carbon and resource efficiency economic sectors. November 2008-March 2012External engagement with a variety of organisations including: - VIBES Award Steering Group partners including Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and Zero Waste Scotland- Representing VIBES and SEPA on the RSA environmental awards forum and acting as an auditor for RSA accredited awards schemes- Managing relationships with key bodies in the resource efficiency arena, through the Scottish Energy and Resource Efficiency Service (SERES)I chaired the VIBES Awards shortlisting panel and provided further technical support to the VIBES Awards including: - updating and developing applicant and judges' guidance notes- developing and delivering VIBES judges' training on an annual basis - providing technical advice and support to VIBES applicants - liaising with VIBES Awards sponsors including FMC Technologies, the William Tracey Group and the Scottish Government.

Responsible for development of the Waste Aware Business website which provided information and tools to help Scottish business reduce, reuse and recycle their waste. The site was developed through liaison with the Scottish Government, SEPA, the waste industry, local authorities and community recycling groups. In addition, I also worked on the Local Authority Recycling Advisor Support Programme from November 2007-September 2008. The programme aimed to tackle issues of participation, contamination and excess waste in kerbside recycling systems.

Provision of technical support and assistance to senior members of the waste strategy team. Duties included:- Undertaking best value analyses for waste infrastructure and kerbside recycling systems for a number of local authorities in England and Wales - Leadership of project for the Government of the North East (GoNE), examining best practice in recycling for all local authorities in the region- Assistance with the preparation of PPC permit applications for landfill sites in the Highland Council region

Provision of technical support and assistance to senior members of the waste strategy team. Duties included: - Assisting with the production of the Greater London Authority (GLA) 'Wider Wastes Strategy'- Assisting in the production of waste strategies for Welsh local authorities
