Experienced as a Play Worker, I’ve supported child-led play with a range of ages, from 3-11. I’ve been trained to work in accordance with the Play Work Principles, and am eager to progress my knowledge and apply it to a range of contexts. I have a team-centred approach, yet am willing and capable to work on my own initiative. This has been demonstrated through years of teamwork in the retail sector, where I’ve helped develop my colleagues and boost their confidence.I’m passionate about working with children, and ensuring that every child has the best possible start in life. My time at Home-Start built on my communication skills, and I’ve grown confident at speaking with both parents and children.Working with Home-Start required a deep understanding of safeguarding, and I’ve followed up on this with further training. I understand the importance of safeguarding, and everyone’s role in providing a safe environment for a child to grow. At the same time, I fully understand that play is an innate part of human nature, and to allow a child to play you must allow a certain element of controlled risk. There can be no play without some freedom; at The Ark After-School Club, I gained experience in balancing this risk benefit.I’m interested in developing my experience in all areas of the Early Years education sector, including Nurseries, Primary School Teaching Assistant roles, After-School Clubs, and Summer Schools.Feel free to email me at Fi5bacon@gmail.com.
