Business Development Manager - role disestablished under restructure

An exciting project to be working on, with 3 different projects running in tandem. Great to be working with the PG team on these.

Led a team of 4 to deliver events and training to 5000 members across the South Island.

National role based from Christchurch. AMP purchased AXA and I applied for this role under the restructure. I led a team of 8 based in the 3 main centres delivering technology solutions, regulatory, compliance and other support to advisers across NZ.  * Created a technology solution to assist with new regulatory requirements; * Worked on the AMP Anti Money Laundering solution for advisers; * Owned and managed Adviser templates to meet regulation; * Assisted advisers with comprehension of the various Acts, in particular their Disclosure obligations and requirements under the various designations (Authorised Financial Adviser, Registered financial adviser and advisers under a Qualifying Financial Entity).

AXA was bought and merged into AMP, I initially came to AXA on a 3 month contract to create an audit programme which looked to ensure adviser businesses had robust process and systems in place to comply with the upcoming Financial Advisers Act and other regulation. The programme identified issues and risks within the adviser business and then recommended solutions to be implemented. The programme aimed to ensure Quality Advice standards and if the adviser business met the standards set, the business was given recognition of their excellence with a Quality Mark they could use to differentiate their business. Upon completion and launch of the programme, I applied for a role to act as one of the two Consultants in NZ who could go out and complete the audits with adviser practices, and then assist them to implement any changes required.

Self employed project manager to the Financial Services industry.I completed various projects. All were in the Project Management and Business Development field and were complete start up roles. The first 2 included sourcing and developing client lists for each firm:  * Ocean Partners – Investment Bankers. * Intercap Funds Limited. * Investment World – Financial Planners – this included identifying and implementing new platform and compliance systems.

Created relationships with professionals to refer business. Promoted TEL Trust, Wills, and estate services. Covered the New Plymouth to Invercargill regions.A new role in a green field environment to set up referral sources across the Accounting, Legal, Financial Services, Banking and Corporates while growing estate planning awareness and the brand.

Headed 3 business units, Marketing, In house Product distribution and Technical services. This role included managing a team of 9 and heading a very interesting project involving an Australian celebrity that was designed, developed and launched within my first 3 months there.
